My dad (ICT assignment)
My dad is the one that encourages, and comfort me the most. He praised me a lot of ideas in order to become a good learner and how to apply my skills to daily lives. He used to be the one that drove me to nut the most, but now he changes to be happy man, and being my best friend in the family. He helps me to get through most of troubles at school and home. He’s the one that inspires me to get through risk and become a risk-taker.

Gentleman Of Rio en Medio

Literary Focus: Point of view (Gentleman of Rio en Medio)
9)Hypothesize this story is told from the point of view of a narrator who is a character in the story. How might this story differ if Don Anselmo were the narrator.
If the story changed the narrator, from a lawyer who supervised a negotiation to Don Anselmo, the story will be different. In the point of view of lawyer, there are just a few details how Don Anselmo’s land or house look like. If it turned to Don Anselmo point of view, he would describe his memory about land and his house more details or why he sold his properties beside for money.
I believe that Don Anselno would deeply explain why he sold his land (8 acres = 8 soccer fields)and house with only twelve hundred dollars because that was his decision, maybe he sold his properties not only because American are his friends. Also Don Alselmo would explain why he refused to double the price twice of his land and house. Personally, I think that he might have enough money to live the rest of his life, that’s why he didn’t double the price up.

Literary Focus: what is the significance of the story's title, "Stop the Sun"
The battle is mostly start at the beginning of the morning, the soldiers and fires keep coming on the battle field, and soldiers’ dead bodies lay on ground everywhere.
“Stop the Sun”- the story title, it has a significance (meaning). Its mean, in order to stay away from death by war, the sun shouldn’t appear. Terry’s dad was the man who only survived out of 54 mans, he wanted to “stop the sun” in order to survived from the bloody paddy. When the sun appeared, he was extremely nervous because he might get shoot by north vietnamese soldiers. He wished he could “stop the sun” because his enemy will not be able to see him. In my opinion, maybe Terry’s dad wanted to stop the sun from shined its light because he didn’t want people died because of war.

Time traveler
The cold and white snow kept the atmosphere of Toronto, Canada frozen at mid October. There were few trees had their red leaves children on their arm left. Lucas Luke, an eleventh grader, who lived in old dark red house with full of old guns, historical books… He treated history as his own lover in his heart. He had a black-brown fuzzy hair, which kept his head warm during winter. On these days, his brain started to struggle whether Hitler had children or not. Lucas had come up with a giant idea to solve this problem, went back to time to meet Hitler and ask him this question by a time machine.
Lucas time machine worked like black hole core. Lucas’s little black-red “bug” time machine had a control board that have time/place, calendar, speed/second, and worked under theory of Einstein(E=mc2). Lucas finished time machine by few days work at his home, he used his smart brain in order to make time machine works.
He carefully entered the time/place, speed/second:
Ermm…1941/ Adolf Hitler’s Villa, 300,000km/second
He clicked on START button. Suddenly, he realized himself in a big empty space world, kept turning up-side down like a crazy mad world. Swiftly, Lucas appeared on a place where he had not seen on old fashion television in his room, “Oh…My…God. Where am I? Girl’s room with sickly pink and old traditional English bed? Those things make me want to throw up,” he said.
Pink papers covered the room’s walls. There were some swastika symbols on a black shinny wooden door. Lucas could easily recognize the Queen Elizabeth’s Bed near the wooden door. He saw the room had a lot expensive things, like Queen Elizabeth’s bed, wild North Africa tiger skins as a carpet, Samurai’s amour, etc... Those things made Lucas eyes get wild and nervous; he had never seen those things before, except only in books.
He could barely see what was outside of the windows. It was all perfectly locked in. unable to break it, Lucas walked through the room. Suddenly, he heard noise from the bathroom, Lucas curiously walked to the bathroom step-by-step.
The bathroom door was slowly open; Lucas’s heart beat extreme fast nearly said good-bye to his chest. His face was sweating beads. A blonde girl walked slowly out of bathroom covered by a white tower. Right away, she saw Lucas
“Raus aus meinem Zimmer jetzt!.”
Lucas was surprised too, his mouth became like stutter speaker
“D…do…y…ou…know…h..ow…t…o…spe…ak…En…glish?”
The girl responded in an astonished reaction, “Of course I do,”
“Do you know where I am?” Lucas asked her
“You are in my room,” she said, smiling.
“No, I mean where the location of your house is?” Lucas asked cautiously
“Berlin, Germany, 1941. Welcome back to planet Earth, alien boy,” she joked. Lucas was happy because he made it. The time machine test was success. He wondered who this kid was.
“So…What is your name in English?” Lucas wanted to know her.
“Aarika Fabio Hitler,” she happily replied
“So you’re Adolf Hitler’s…” Lucas started to say but he couldn’t finish his sentence. He felt two big hands on his shoulder. He turned his neck bit by bit. Lucas saw an ominous man with his deadly gun behind his back, his upper arm had red swastika symbol and wore black-brown uniform to prove that he was a SS soldier.
“Sie sind nun unter der Kontrolle von Adolf Hitler,” the soldier said.
“What does that even mean, Aarika?” Lucas asked, confused.
Before Aarika could answer, the SS soldier took Lucas away by his giant hands.
Lucas was so frightened, his face turned to red. He thought this man was going to executed him. Lucas was wrong, that SS soldier dragged him to the big office. He had a negative feeling for this office.
When Lucas stepped into an office, the smelled of sunny flowers made Lucas more calmed down. Lucas saw a lot of battlefield maps, and big Swastika symbol hang on a wall .Lucas could barely recognize a man sat on a chair that had short brown hair, and he wore a deep-black coat with some Nazis party symbol on it. Adolf Hitler, Lucas knew that Hitler had a high temper, serious face, so he wouldn’t mess up with a Germany’s dictator. Hitler stared at Lucas and growled in English, “Who are you? Where did you come from? Why were you at my house?”
Lucas stuttered, “I’m Lucas Luke, from Canada. Your house? Oh…, I’m here to research about you secret daughter. I just met her at her room,”
Hitler’s face became red and bellowed, “First of all, this territory had been banned by my power. Secondly, Aarika is not my secret daughter”
“Then who is…Aarika?” Lucas asked. He was too anxious because of Hitler’s hot face across the room.
“She is my niece, not my daughter or anything,” Hitler replied hotly.
“Then why her room window has been lock thickly?” Lucas demanded.
“You don’t know anything about my family. Two years ago, some Jewish broke into my brother house. They killed him and his wife, but they left Aarika alone because she was too young to be killed. Next morning, I visited them and I was shocked after I knew that my brother and his wife were killed, only Aarika left,” Hitler said as the tears rolled down his cheeks.
Lucas was so surprised that a person like Hitler would cry in front of a young boy. But he ignored that fact and soothingly replied, “Well, I’m sorry for your loss,” Lucas came, shook hand to Hitler, and said, “See you Mr. Hitler, I will tell the modern world that you do not have daughter or secret child,”
“Hold on! What do you mean by modern world?” Hitler replied in shock, but it was too late. Lucas had disappeared in thin air. When Lucas reached back to modern world, he wrote a book to answer a question “whether Hitler had child or not?” and included his journey. Time machine was useful for him to research for the answer about type of historical question that remained mysterious.

Jack Khiem is a joker-man in AIS, 8th grader. His is little bit shorter than me,1 m 63. Everyday in school, he always tells me alot of humorous jokes about our classmates. He is really cheerful, and playful in school. His personality makes him unique among of my friends, his faces look miserable when he talks but he is actually happy inside. Sometimes, his face seemes like a man came from miserable world, because of his paretns got mad at him. But in school, he shares and talks to other about how he got miserable faces, that is the way he releases stress from his family.

That would help you more open than usual with other by join our Soccer Club So we really want you to join our Soccer Club.
If you are or are not interested in soccer please join us, we will help you to improve your soccer skill and experiences. Example, if you are bad at tackle, we will help you out. We play a lot of games in there, the purpose are to improve our soccer skills, tricks, tactical. So please join us to improving your experiences with soccer, which will make you interested in soccer more.
Physical activity/ play sport is a main factor that makes you healthier. Scientists have proved that playing sport or physical activity can slow down the process of illness that is develops in your body. Join physical activity/play sport can help us reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and body’s weight. Example, you did homework for five hours a day, you feel very stressful, you held it and don’t release it. You would feel very bad because you keep it inside, then if that continue for long time, you would depressed yourself because school works are too stressful. Then solution is play sport to release stress.
You are new to AIS, I saw you usually sit alone during lunch, stay away from some of group of friends and don’t join clubs activities in our school. Please join us, you will meet and communicate a lot with club members in here. Communicate with other will help your social relationship improve. Example, you play games in Soccer Club with club’s members, you communicate with them a lot, which means your social relationship has improved. Communicate will help you more open to people that you haven’t know before.

Think Before Speak
When I was about at eighth, I used to be a hyper active kid. I couldn't sit in a chair and eat like normal any longer in fifteen-minutes during eating time unless I had some thing I can play with while I was eating, or I refused to eat. Because of that, I could hardly stayed focus during study, did homework, but I was best at subject which involved movement, PE. One day, Duong(my friend)glanced at me and asked during lunch break at our elementary school
"Hey Vu, could you swim or not?"
" Yes, of course I can, why not?"
Replied no would embarrassed me. Because during Health class, our teacher asked us to raise our hand if we know how to swim, then most of my class raised their hands, except me. So I wouldn't say no.
"Awesome, then our whole class know how to swim, then let's come to my house and
swim at Saturday evening guys."
I felt curious though, because I thought that the swimming pool in my classmate's house was small, circle, and only fit few peoples, that would look like the same as the plastic swimming pool that was in my neighbor's backyard. How come my friend invited whole class to come there and swim? That so weird and strange.
Saturday was coming, when I came to Duong house (his house was one mile away from my house, and it was huge) I felt shock and nervous. Because the pool was much bigger than I thought, it was fifteen meters length and four meters width, and there were almost my whole class filled inside the swimming pool with different style of swimming, freestyle, chest stroke, or even butterfly, those kids were so talented. Duong came toward me and drag my hand with his wet hands.
"Yo Vu, Let's swim and show me what you got"
"Alright, but let me change my suit" I distressed my voice
In a Change Suite room, my body was silvering, shaking, WHY, WHY, WHY, and WHY? I didn't tell my peer I didn't know how to swim earlier. After changed my suit, I walked toward the swimming pool and I felt the energy inside my heart that I could do it, show Duong what I got. I didn't want to be a "joker" in front of my peers at that time. Then I jumped to a swimming pool and I felt very cool water through my skin during a hot and humid season. The swimming waters were not deep, just about my neck. Then Duong said,
"Ok Vu, let's swim with me"
I didn't know how to swim at that time , but I was going to try my best. He swam 'till the other edge of the pool with a fast speed by used back stroke. My eyes got wide and I had no choice, swim. I started to copy other, and it was hard, then my ability to swim was no more. I stop at the middle of the pool, but my leg couldn't reach the pool's floor, the waters were just about my neck, but how come it was so high at the middle of the pool. I started to nervous, moved freely but I couldn't rise my head above water level and yelled help. Unfortunately, because I wasn't warm up before swim, legs were started taken with a cramp, it was very hurt. I couldn't move my legs, but my hands were still moved freely because I was so nervous, so waters entered my ears, through my mouth and I'm sure that I drank a lot swimming pool waters. I could felt my eyes, and lungs were burning because no oxygen, it was like I had tortured by the waters. I could only see deep blue in my eyes, I was started to drowning . Later some one dragged my arm and took me ashore. When I ashore, my lungs and eyes were started to feel comfortable with air inside, and I saw all of my peers were looking at me with curious eyes, Duong was the one who saved me from drowning.
" Hey Vu! If you don't know how to swim, then you shouldn't come here"
One of my peer said, and everyone else laughed at me
I realized that there were a big concave hole at the middle of the pool, it were pretty deep with me at that time ( about one meter and sixty seven centimeters depth)
From that day, I felt I'm not hyperactive kid anymore, because I felt I just like a loser and a "joker" in front of my peers. I started to cautious and think before I make a decision to say or do something, I don't want everybody laugh at me one more time, and that changed my personality 'till now. That was my lesson for not think before speak.
"Hey Vu, could you swim or not?"
" Yes, of course I can, why not?"
Replied no would embarrassed me. Because during Health class, our teacher asked us to raise our hand if we know how to swim, then most of my class raised their hands, except me. So I wouldn't say no.
"Awesome, then our whole class know how to swim, then let's come to my house and
swim at Saturday evening guys."
I felt curious though, because I thought that the swimming pool in my classmate's house was small, circle, and only fit few peoples, that would look like the same as the plastic swimming pool that was in my neighbor's backyard. How come my friend invited whole class to come there and swim? That so weird and strange.
Saturday was coming, when I came to Duong house (his house was one mile away from my house, and it was huge) I felt shock and nervous. Because the pool was much bigger than I thought, it was fifteen meters length and four meters width, and there were almost my whole class filled inside the swimming pool with different style of swimming, freestyle, chest stroke, or even butterfly, those kids were so talented. Duong came toward me and drag my hand with his wet hands.
"Yo Vu, Let's swim and show me what you got"
"Alright, but let me change my suit" I distressed my voice
In a Change Suite room, my body was silvering, shaking, WHY, WHY, WHY, and WHY? I didn't tell my peer I didn't know how to swim earlier. After changed my suit, I walked toward the swimming pool and I felt the energy inside my heart that I could do it, show Duong what I got. I didn't want to be a "joker" in front of my peers at that time. Then I jumped to a swimming pool and I felt very cool water through my skin during a hot and humid season. The swimming waters were not deep, just about my neck. Then Duong said,
"Ok Vu, let's swim with me"
I didn't know how to swim at that time , but I was going to try my best. He swam 'till the other edge of the pool with a fast speed by used back stroke. My eyes got wide and I had no choice, swim. I started to copy other, and it was hard, then my ability to swim was no more. I stop at the middle of the pool, but my leg couldn't reach the pool's floor, the waters were just about my neck, but how come it was so high at the middle of the pool. Flowers for Algernon (question 9, Connect)
I think that people who dislike others who are different from them are mean, they’re insult other, and they discriminated to others who aren’t like them. First, People who are different from them are mean. Because in the story, characters Joe, Frank, George, Amos Borge were picked on Charlie and told mean joke to Charlie. Examples, when Ernie lost a package, Amos Borge used Charlie’s name to yell at Ernie. (…for god sake what are you trying to be a Charlie Gordon… pg 60.) or “Frank Reilly said what did you do Charlie forget your key and open your door the hard way” pg 60 .Second, they are disrespect others who are not like them. Because Joe Carp said Charlie should show the girls how he mop out the toilet in the factory and Charlie did, he showed them and everyone laughed. So Joe Carp was insulted Charlie in front of a public, he disrespected Charlie. Third, they discriminated to others who aren’t like them. Because after the operation, Charlie started to change his IQ numbers, eight hundred and forty worker wanted to get rid of Charlie out of Donnegan’s Plastic Box Company. Why? Because Charlie was smarter than before and they hated it, they didn’t want a clumsy, dumb guy smarter than them, so they discriminated him and want to get rid of him out of their company. So the people who dislike others are different from them others are un-nice, mean, disrespect, insulted, and discriminate.
